Maker of playful experiences with technology and people

Coral Manton

I led two lectures series exploring whether animators and composers could make films in direct collaboration – so not making visuals for sound or sound for visuals – but developing a film where both processes happen concurrently. The space for this project was an immersive cinema/dome cinema. I chose this because the architecture of the dome space and surround sound could act as a shared language for audio/visual design. The lecture series was for postgraduate animation students at The Bristol School of Animation, UWE and postgraduate composition students at The Royal Academy of Music and took place at Birmingham Planetarium.
